Do you have an understanding of mental health issues or experience of working in mental health? Would you like to be part of an organisation that counts on the professionalism, insight, expertise and passion of its staff to inspire individual recovery for the people they work with? Then join us as a Recovery Worker.
Recovery Focus is a new group of expert charities with the shared aim to inspire individual recovery nationwide. Between us we have a track record of more than 200 years of developing and running personalised services that work with people with mental health, substance misuse and other complex needs to achieve their ambitions.
Right now, one of our partners, Richmond Fellowship, is recruiting for Crisis Recovery Worker’s for 4 new crisis services across Lancashire. Our new services will consist of Crisis Support Units in Blackpool, Preston and Blackburn; and a new Crisis House in Burnley. The new services, launching between September 2017 and March 2018, will provide support and short term interventions for people experiencing a mental health crisis, in the aim to prevent an impatient hospital admission.
Day-to-day, you’ll support individuals to develop emotional management and personal life skills to achieve greater independence and self-esteem. You will support individuals to develop coping mechanisms and tools to better manage their mental health, through 1:1’s and group activities. And, when it comes to liaising with statutory and voluntary agencies to give people access to a full range of services and support, again, we’ll rely on your expertise.
You will need to be a great listener, with a flexible approach and a flair for planning and prioritising a busy workload. You will enjoy motivating and engaging people in a range of developmental and rehabilitative activities. What’s more, you have a good understanding of mental health issues and how they affect people and their loved ones.
Day Crisis Recovery Workers within our Burnley service will be required to work (on average) 4 sleep in shifts per month at £75.00 per shift.
Subsequent salary progression up to a maximum of £17,070 will apply to this post, subject to the post holder meeting the eligibility and performance criteria.
In return, you can expect some great benefits, including 25 days' holiday, contributory pension scheme, employee assistance programme and childcare vouchers, plus exceptional professional development and training opportunities.
This is a rolling job advert, shortlisted candidates will be interviewed as and when they apply.
