Do you have experience of working in Occupational Therapy and a good understanding of health legislation and health, safety and risk management policies? Would you like to be part of an organisation that counts on the professionalism, insight, expertise and passion of its staff to inspire individual recovery for the people they work with? Then join us as an Occupational Therapist.
Recovery Focus is a new group of expert charities with the shared aim to inspire individual recovery nationwide. Between us we have a track record of more than 200 years of developing and running personalised services that work with people with mental health, substance misuse and other complex needs to achieve their ambitions. Each partner organisation has its own rich history of success, but together we believe we can lead the way in evidence‐based recovery pathways, tailored to meet local and individual needs.
Right now, one of our partners, Richmond Fellowship, is looking for an Occupational Therapist to join the team at the Trinity Street care home in Batley Carr. A 24 hour registered care home, Trinity Street provides a safe, supportive place to live, where individuals with diagnosed mental health problems can achieve their potential and work towards their personal goals, whilst maintaining and improving on ‘life skills’. But it’s only possible with people like you.
Your challenge? To provide the occupational therapy assessments and interventions that will enable us to maintain a recovery and rehabilitation focused environment, including developing occupational therapy plans for clients with complex needs. Giving clear guidance to staff engaging within the recovery support plans will be important too, as will reviewing outcomes and staff performance within tasks and reporting this information to the registered service manager. And, in order to ensure you are fully supported, the registered service manager will be on hand to provide management supervision, while clinical development supervision will be delivered via an external OT or university identified party.
As well as a COT diploma or BSc Occupational Therapy degree or MSC Occupational Therapy pre‐registration, you have HCPC state registration and are willing to undertake practice placement education and other identified training. Documented evidence of continuing professional development is important too, as is knowledge of current best OT practice and a proven ability to apply the OT process in a relevant clinical setting. Comfortable working independently using your own initiative, you're great at engaging with clients. What’s more, you know how to plan and coordinate treatment packages, have a good understanding of multi‐disciplinary working and are committed to client‐centred, non‐discriminatory practice.
In return, you can expect some great benefits, including 25 days' holiday, contributory pension scheme, employee assistance programme and childcare vouchers, plus exceptional professional development and training opportunities.
So, get inspired and take the first steps towards a more fulfilling career.
