Right now, one of our partners, Aquarius Action Projects, is looking for a Practitioner to join their Young People’s Early Intervention D&A team in Northamptonshire. The Post will be working in the Towcester and south Northants area and will have an office base in Towcester.  Aquarius helps people overcome the harm caused by alcohol, drugs and gambling working closely with individuals, family and friends. But it’s only possible with the help of people like you.

 Your challenge? To provide advice, assessments, brief and structured interventions and group programmes. As a practitioner in this role you will be conducting initial assessments, face to face and offering relevant and appropriate advice, harm minimisation, risk assessment and management, actioning onward referrals to partner agencies. You will be required to manage a caseload as well as deliver group work and professional training.

An energetic and confident self-starter, you will be required to hold a qualification in health/social care, youth and community work (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or above, DipSW, Mental Health Nursing, Counselling, Addiction Studies). Alternatively, we’ll consider candidates with experience of working in the substance misuse field with a commitment to complete NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care. As well as good knowledge of alcohol/drug and health related issues, you will be used to liaising with voluntary and statutory agencies and health professionals and comfortable engaging with clients in a variety of service delivery settings. You will have a flexible approach, a commitment to the principles of confidentiality, excellent record keeping and  a working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

This role is for 22.5 hours per week.
