We need someone like you to join the team at our Mental Health Community Service in Thanet where we support people with mental health problems using a pathway model providing one to one coaching, recovery workshops, and community and peer leader support. Your challenge will be to promote social inclusion and increase the independence and self-esteem of people using our services by helping them identify and achieve their goals. This will involve providing community based groups/sessions and promoting access to a range of activities within the wider community. It will also involve working with a Team  Manager to develop and support a range of enjoyable, interesting and relevant social activities. Running or supervising  Workshops will be important too, as will managing your own caseload and working with users of the service to create their support plan, providing each individual with their own needs assessment and risk management plan.

As well as a good understanding of mental illness, we’ll be looking for the ability to prioritise a busy workload and work well within a team. You ‘ll also need the communication skills it takes to and motivate and inspire others and liaise effectively with a wide range of organisations and individuals. Proficient using office IT and willing to work some weekends and evenings would also be an advantage. And, if you have experience of running Workshops session, even better, although this is not essential, as training will be provided.
