Your café or catering related experience has given you a proven ability to motivate and train others and a commitment to team working and excellent customer service. All you need is the perfect environment to put your skills to great use. Welcome to Richmond Fellowship as a Café Supervisor.

The Old Moat Garden Centre and Café in Epsom is a not-for-profit organisation that provides work experience and training for people with mental health needs. It’s ably supported by a team of staff and volunteers, but, we need your help too. You’ll be part of a team of supervisors that manage the café and provide support and guidance to service users with mental health problems who participate in its running as part of their recovery journey. As well as planning and allocating work, we’ll also look to you to develop new services/products in line with our business plan. Providing or organising service user training, coaching and supervision in skills relating to the café will be important too, as will ensuring high quality standards are maintained for products and services. Collecting and recording statistics, maintaining service user records, overseeing stock control and ordering systems and helping to promote the service – all are aspects of this challenging and rewarding role.

With an interest in, and possibly some experience of working with, people with mental health problems, you have also worked in a café or catering related environment. We’ll be looking for excellent time management, organisational and customer service skills too, as well as a patient, flexible approach and the ability to cope under pressure. Happy to seize the initiative and originate new ideas for work, you’re also a stickler for ensuring high quality standards are maintained. What’s more, you take a creative yet practical approach to problem solving and are great at maintaining accurate records and implementing new procedures. Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications and a relevant food hygiene qualification (or a willingness to gain one) is also required.

This is a part time post at 15 hours per week. The postholder will be required to work on Saturdays and Sundays only.

So, are you ready to take on this rewarding role that comes with some really great benefits? Apply now via our website.
